Broom Wagon
CYCLING CLUB
A Bay Area Cycling Club for Drunks!?
Well, sort of.
Broom Wagon is a nonprofit cycling club for people abstaining from alcohol and mind-altering substances, whether because they are in recovery, never indulge(d), are sober-curious, or just want to participate in a social event that doesn’t take place at a bar. Broom Wagon is an inclusive and safe place to build both community and an active, healthy lifestyle centered around a love of cycling and an appreciation for life on life’s terms.
In the spring of 2025 Broom Wagon will host weekly world tour race viewing parties (with waffles!) followed by group training rides in the Oakland hills. Participants that commit to attending the training rides will be able to ride the Grizzly Peak Century with us on May 4, and may have the cost of their registration fees paid for by Broom Wagon.
And that’s just the beginning. As it grows, Broom Wagon hopes to offer supported group bikepacking rides, bike trips to the Sierras, develop scholarships for bike equipment and race/ride registrations for its members, and more!
Broom Wagon is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation. Donations to Broom Wagon are tax deductible. If you would like to attend a race viewing party, group ride, training season, or volunteer for a Broom Wagon event, let us know!
